Verbier is justifiably famous as one of the most outstanding ski areas in Europe and lies high in a sunny, well-sheltered position in the heart of Switzerland's southern-most Alps with views of Mont Blanc to the west and the Matterhorn to the east. The skiing is vast, high and varied – with over 400 km of piste covering the 4 Valleys area and a whole lot more of exciting off-piste for the advanced skier. There are three main areas; the Verbier area - the main area of the 4 Vallees circuit, with over 200 km of piste; the Savolyeres area with 55 km of pistes and the Bruson with almost 50 km of piste and a 10 km toboggan run. Mont Fort is the highest point of the resort (at 3330 m) with descent on the glacier.

Verbier’s vibrant nightlife is famous! The trendy and cosmopolitan town is always lively both during the day and night. No matter where you are there are always plenty of venues big or small to start and finish the evenings festivities. Our recommendations are: Offshore, Marshals, the Pub Mont Fort, the Farm Club, the Hotel Farinet bar, Murphy's Bar and Cafe de la Poste for dancing into the early hours. There are a number of bars in town with the traditional British following.

Most of the restaurants in Verbier are of course Swiss, serving local specialities such as fondue along with more traditional items such as steak, pizza and other Italian dishes. The town also boasts a good selection of other dishes including Swiss-style fast food options.

Additional Info:

The resort, has an excellent snow and sun record – Verbier itself (at 1 500 m), gets ample sun, so do the south and west facing slopes. The snowmaking facilities have been recently improved giving guaranteed snow throughout the season.

There is a Cinema in Verbier, often with English language films and a free bus service from 0830 -1900.
